Four generations

the land is a borderland

1913

A visceral connection with nature since forever.

It is from the early 20th century that the first Simon generation of Brazzan can be symbolically dated to 1913, when the family bought part of the land now cultivated in Brazzano, previously not owned but managed under sharecropping.

1960 – 80

Second and third generation

In the 1960s, Henry and Rina took over the business as the second generation. At that time, the Farm was traditional in nature, in addition to wine there were dairy cattle, pigs and barnyard animals, and only with the third generation, around the 1980s, did the barn close its doors to make way for the expansion of the vineyard area and the Winery.

Today

A story of respect, work and vision

The fourth generation bears the name of Daniele Drius, beloved grandson of Enrico Veliscig, with whom Daniele led the Company together until his passing at 103 years of age in 2021, and which he now leads with passion, courage and determination, guarding the precious family values, flanked by his tireless mother Marisa and beloved Eloise.

From an early age, Daniele grew up in a context of harmony with nature, and about 20 years ago, after finishing his studies as an agricultural surveyor, he made the fundamental decision to start bottling some of the wine, which until then had only been sold in bulk locally, between Brazzano di Cormons and nearby areas.

Courage, insight, experience

Daniele Drius, day after day, has radically changed vine training systems, aiming to improve grape quality.

Traditional production methods, which were very generous in terms of quantity, have been replaced by others more suitable for producing quality grapes, such as spurred cordon and single or double guyot.

Courage for change and deep respect for the land soon rewarded the choices, vintage after vintage.

The wisdom of man and the generosity of the earth have thus resulted in a valuable product that is increasingly appreciated nationally and internationally.
